Part I: Representing yourself
Artists are invited to join this peer-led discussion forum to share knowledge and experience on issues surrounding contemporary art practice.
Out of necessity many artists deal with their own promotion, being their own marketing manager, researcher, project leader, law, finance and business expert, audience and collector development, salesman and negotiator. Instrumental to managing all of these roles is a clear knowledge of what your work is, understanding your worth, the context and audience you are pricing your work for and having confidence to articulate this.
Join Rosalind Davis to learn about key principles around how you price your work and other money matters such as commissions and proposals as well as developing and nurturing audiences and potential collectors of your work. The sessions will also address the subject of how to articulate and promote your practice more widely and to different audiences. You will come away with actions, tools and insightful guidance in these practical, advisory and discursive workshops.
Part II takes place on Saturday 6 September. Artists are welcome to attend one or both of these sessions.

Rosalind Davis
Rosalind Davis is an artist, curator, writer, lecturer and creative consultant. Davis is a graduate of The Royal College of Art (2005) and Chelsea College of Art (2003) and has exhibited nationally and internationally in a number of commercial, public and artist-led spaces.
From 2009-11 Davis curated Core Gallery, a dynamic artist-led gallery space working in collaboration with over 200 artists and curators. In 2012, Davis & Annabel Tilley founded Zeitgeist Arts Projects (ZAP), an arts organisation supporting ambitious artists with practical ways to sustain their practice including talks, tutorials, crits, workshops and exhibition opportunities.
Davis lectures, teaches workshops, is a private tutor and mentor and take parts in panel discussions for a number of universities, galleries and art organisations across the country including the Royal College of Art, University of the Arts, Aid&Abet and ArtQuest and has been a mentor at Shape Arts, the largest deaf and disabled arts organisation in the UK.
