Master Class: Ceramics: Smoke Firing - Camden Art Centre

Master Class: Ceramics: Smoke Firing

Saturday 10 August 2013, 10.30 – 3.30pm & Saturday 17 August 2013, 1.00 – 4.00pm

Led by ceramicist Dan Stafford, this two-part master class offers a unique opportunity to test smoke-firing techniques and their use in ceramics. Week one will focus on creating hand-built forms using techniques such as coiling, slab building and press moulding which will be bisque fired. Week two will develop these pieces using masking techniques to create unique surface patterns during the smoke firing process. This is a perfect course for beginners and those looking to progress their ceramics practice through a specialist firing process not normally available on our courses.

Lunch break, Saturday 10 August: 12.30 – 1.30pm

Booking opens Thursday 30 May.

Dan graduated from the University of Wales Institute in 2000 and has since been developing his own practice alongside teaching ceramics to adults.
