In 2014, Camden Arts Centre, ROSL ARTS and Hospitalfield Arts selected Song-Ming Ang for its annual ROSL Visual Arts Scholarship. Running since 2000, this scholarship has been offered by ROSL ARTS enabling Commonwealth artists to come to the UK to undertake a one-month residency at Hospitalfield Arts, Scotland and subsequently exhibit work in the UK.
For his residency, artist Song-Ming Ang took up residence at Hospitalfield Arts, Arbroath where he is developing a project for Camden Arts Centre’s public programme. As a self-confessed musical amateur, Ang’s work takes an obsessional approach to drawing out the personal relationships we have with music, celebrating its virtuosity through his exploration of labour and craftsmanship. The residency culminates with events held at Camden Arts Centre in spring 2015.
