Testbed: The Lab Project - Camden Art Centre

Camden Arts Centre's Volunteer Front of House assistants organise an annual exhibition with guidance from Camden Arts Centre and Kingsgate Workshops Trust.

In 2015 they presented The Lab Project, an experimental exhibition and events programme examining the interactions between art and science. The project will develop over three stages – The Symposium (25 & 26 July), The Experiment (27 July – 13 August) and The Final Exhibition (14 – 21 August).

Camden Arts Centre’s Volunteer Front of House assistants organise an annual exhibition with guidance from Camden Arts Centre and Kingsgate Workshops Trust. This year’s project begins with a two day symposium. Join scientists, curators, creative practitioners and members of the public to discuss the possible entanglements between art and science.

The first day will focus on new media and technologies and there role in shaping how we perceive the world around us. The second day will explore the possibilities of sensory learning in a gallery space.

Camden Arts Centre’s Volunteer Front of House assistants organise an annual exhibition with guidance from Camden Arts Centre and Kingsgate Workshops Trust. For the second phase of this year’s project Kingsgates Workshops are transformed into a studio space where artists can conduct experiments questioning the relationships between art and science. Come along to an Open-Studio Day to see the artists’ works in process on Saturday 8 August prior to the exhibition opening on Friday 14 August. Drop in Reading Group sessions take place on Tuesday 4 & 11 August.

This experimental project culminates in a week-long exhibition. Breaking the rules of a traditional gallery space, visitors are invited to take part in a fully interactive experience. Events take place in the space alongside the show.
