Weaving for 8-11s: Textiles & Sculpture - Camden Art Centre

Weaving for 8-11s: Textiles & Sculpture

During this fun four day course, children will use weaving as a technique to look at new and exciting materials while using the current exhibition Making & Unmaking as a source of inspiration. Working with artist India Harvey, we will think about the particular qualities of materials such as texture, structure, pattern and colour to build and assemble sensory sculptures and installations. The course will culminate in a collaborative exhibition on the last day for parents and carers to attend.

India Harvey is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and play worker who has a special interest in textiles and sensory processing. Since graduating from Kingston University in 2012, India has delivered workshops with schools, playgrounds, and charities to develop a portfolio of engaged social art practice that promotes the idea of young people as valuable cultural producers.
