Cantine at Camden Art Centre is delighted to welcome you back to our beautiful café and garden.
The café has reopened with a lovely new team, delicious new recipes and some popular classics; perfect artisan coffee, tea, baked goods and natural wines. The team are also developing some fantastic grocery items such as preserves, fresh coffee granola, sourdough bread and other goodies. Cantine uses whole, seasonal and non-processed ingredients in our cooking from fruits and vegetables to sustainably produced unaltered meat and dairy products, freshly milled ancient grain and sourdough breads. At Cantine, we are passionate about creating food that is fresh and nutritious – everything is made from scratch.
The safety and wellbeing of our team and guests is of the utmost importance. We therefore have some new measures in place and changes in how we operate and engage:
If you are just visiting the café and garden please enter via the stepped entrance on Finchley Road (unless you have access requirements in which case continue to use the level access entrance and speak to a member of the Camden Art Centre staff).
Please do not enter if you are feeling unwell.
Walk-ins will always be warmly welcomed through our doors, but we will need to book you in through Opentable, in order to comply with NHS Track and Trace, so we may just ask you to wait at the entrance while we take these details and also to help control the flow of guests coming in and out of the space.
For now, the maximum size table that can be reserved is a party of six and takeaways are not available.
Menus will be displayed via Qi code and on single-use paper menus which are kept on your table throughout your meal. Once you have finished with them, they will be recycled again and turned back into more menu paper!
Card payments are encouraged, our card machines will be sanitised before and after each use. We will no longer accept cash.
We welcome your feedback to help make Cantine at Camden Art Centre a hospitable, warm and safe environment for all.
To visit the exhibition at Camden Art Centre you will need to book a free entry slot in advance, or speak to a member of staff in reception. See camdenartcentre.org/visit for further information
Cantine was founded by Maud Faussurier. Maud’s family life unfolded around the kitchen table in her parents apartment in Paris. Following a traineeship at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, Maud working under Mark Hix, Pierre Gagnaire and Roel Lintermans and finally as Head Chef under Yotam Ottolenghi & Sami Tamimi. At Cantine, we are passionate about creating fresh and nutritious dishes. Where possible, we use whole, organic, seasonal and non processed ingredients in our cooking from fruits and vegetables to sustainably produced unaltered meat and dairy products and freshly milled ancient grain and sourdough breads.
We serve natural wine and locally sourced soft drinks and beer.
We are committed to reducing our waste and carbon foot print: our dishes are predominantly vegan and vegetarian, we sparingly serve meat and fish and our kitchen is fully electric and uses 100% renewable energy. At Camden Arts Centre we serve sweet and savoury treats, as well as breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Alongside the Café, we offer seasonal and bespoke catering – from formal events on location to intimate dinners at home and everything in between.
