60th Anniversary Project: 2010s, Duro Olowu - Camden Art Centre

For our 60th anniversary, we are celebrating Camden Art Centre with a digital project exploring our rich history on Arkwright Road.

For the fifth week of this project, Duro Olowu sat down with our Exhibitions Curator, Gina Buenfeld-Murley to discuss ‘Making and Unmaking’, an exhibition he curated in 2016.

‘Making and Unmaking’ filled all three of our galleries and drew together over 70 artists from around the world spanning this century and the last, including 19th century textiles made by unknown hands. Olowu’s exhibition invited a multifaceted journey of encounters with the intuition, skill and vision of the artists represented within it. As the works on display came from all over the world, the exhibition spoke to audiences on an international level.

Alongside the exhibition, there was a dedicated strand of Public Programming, including live discussions, showcases and musical performances.
