Book Launch: Notes on Evil with Steven Warwick - Camden Art Centre

What is ‘evil’? How is it categorised, understood, and used?

Surveying examples from cinema, music and politics, Notes on Evil offers a series of observations on the mechanisms by which societies construct enemies in a collective bid to expel their problems. But does the label of evil help to rid us of social ills? Or does it just lead to superficial, aestheticised purges that distract us from deeper forms of inequity?

Steven Warwick will be in conversation Aurelia Guo and Matt Williams to discuss the overlapping social architectures that frame our current discourse on good and evil, searching for a path that reaches beyond our collective impasse.

With special thanks to the Goethe-Institut London.

Organised in collaboration with Floating Opera Press.
