London based artist, Renata Minoldo was our Digital Family Artist-in-Residence during The Botanical Mind online exhibition.
Renata invited families to take part in four creative activities inspired by her work and key themes in the exhibition. Activities developed for Family Art Club explored our connections to the natural world and rethought the home spaces we are now confined to. They went on sensorial expeditions, built portals in their home, made magical protection amulets and family journals of dreams.
Renata is an Argentinian artist living and working in London. She explores the physical, spiritual and emotional body through sculpture, installation and intuitive-led experiences with people. Her practice flows from the tactile to the subtle experience, aiming to bring emotional states into a physical dimension by creating objects and environments for self-discovery, pleasure and healing.
She is interested in alternative ways to approaching art education, aiming to stimulate intuitive learning and focusing on individual processes and needs. She works with a wide variety of people, from children in galleries and primary schools to teenagers and older adults in community centres, galleries and public spaces. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including New York, London and Buenos Aires. She is part of the 2018 School of the Damned cohort, a self organised post graduate programme for artists living in UK.
