Marta Marcé’s abstract painting and interactive works employ rules, chance and the structure of games. She shares Mary Martin’s use of formula and order as well as Kenneth Martin’s sense of energy and movement. Her approach becomes a framework for taking risks and experimenting with form and colour. Chance and probability are drawn into her practice and imposed on the outcomes of her work.
During her residency, Marcé created new work inspired by representation in the urban environment and issues of abstraction.
