After 8 Books and Camden Art Centre invite you to an evening of readings with writers Estelle Hoy and Emily LaBarge, hosted in the café and garden. The event celebrates the second printing of Estelle Hoy’s selected writings, saké blue, and will be accompanied by a preview of her upcoming collection, Molotov (forthcoming from After 8 Books, 2026).

Special guest Emily LaBarge will read from her forthcoming book, Dog Days (Peninsula Press, 2025).

Books and zines will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

Estelle Hoy is a writer and art critic based in Berlin. Her critically acclaimed book, ‘Pisti, 80 Rue de Belleville’, was published in 2020 (After 8 Books, Paris) with an introduction by Chris Kraus. Her book, “Jus d’Orange,” in collaboration with artist Camille Henrot, was published with NERO Editions (2023), accompanied by an exhibition at ICA Milano. Her latest book of essays, ‘saké blue,’ was released by After 8 Books (2024). Hoy regularly publishes in the international art press, including Mousse Magazine, Spike Art, e-flux, Artforum, Flash Art International,  Autre, CURA, apartmento, and Frieze. She has exhibited text-based art in galleries including White Cube, Paris, Galerie Kamel Mennour, Paris, Institute for Contemporary Art, Milano, and Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, alongside artists including Louise Bourgeois, Anne Imhof, Mona Hatoum, Sarah Lucas, and Miriam Cahn. She is currently writing an operatic Commedia dell’arte with Camille Henrot for the 2025 Performa Biennial in New York. Hoy’s forthcoming book, ‘Molotov’, will be released with After 8 Books in 2026.

Emily LaBarge is a Canadian writer living in London. Her essays and criticism have appeared in Granta, the London Review of Books, Artforum, mousse, Bookforum, Frieze, and The Paris Review, among others. She is a regular contributor to The New York Times and 4Columns. Her first book, Dog Days, will be published by Peninsula Press in 2025.
