Simon Periton

Simon Periton makes enormous and intricate paper doilies, which incorporate a wealth of graphic references from Aubrey Beardsley to the Sex Pistols. As well as a new large-scale paper doily, Periton presents a group of cut and painted glass pieces inspired by Eastern Europe festive decorations. Simon Periton studied at St. Martins School of Art and was included in Popcultural (1996) and Lovecraft (1998) both at South London Gallery. He had a solo exhibition in 1997 at Sadie Coles HQ, London.
