The Big Bamboozle
The Big Bamboozle
Saturday 16 March 2013
Join us for the 99th birthday party of pioneering modernist Finchley Arkwright-Keslake-Essendine, the founding member of the little-known proto-appropriationist movement Mimicism and, for the last nine years, the only nonagenarian life-model in Hampstead.
For one day only, Arkwright-Keslake-Essendine will be auctioning off the entire contents of her studio – including mementoes of famous friends and rivals down the decades, as well as a staggering collection of Mimicist artworks – and flinging open the doors of her salon, and private pub, for your enjoyment.
So save the date for daytime family activities, auction, stalls, performances and an evening party, all washed down with bamboozling amounts of art and drink.
