A weekend-long display of works produced by participants of the 2024/5 Youth Collective.
The culmination of a year-long programme of artist led workshops this weekend display will showcase collaborative works by participants as well as insights into their creative approaches.
Through a series of workshops focusing on the creative process over product the group have investigated a range of themes and concepts including performance as protest, spatial poetics and local social history. The takeover will feature works and experiments in a variety of mediums including photography, sculpture, drawing and moving image.
Artist led workshops this year included sessions with Ree Bradley, Ain Bailey, Kneed, Nqatyiswa Mendu, Marcus Jefferson as well as exhibiting artists Gregg Bordowitz and Jack O’Brien.
Alongside the artworks on display the cohort have also produced a zine featuring creative documentation and reflection which will be available to visitors in limited numbers.
Free weekly sessions for 15-25 year olds will resume in October 2025, further details and sign up information will be online in September.
