Youth Collective Online - Camden Art Centre

Youth Collective Online

Youth Collective is a space for young people aged 15 – 25 to meet regularly and encounter the visual arts in an open and welcoming environment, to critically engage, feel empowered, and gain help to build a creative future.

We understand that during this difficult time access to creativity is challenging and we remain committed to supporting young people and the next generation of artists through a new online programme.

Youth Collective online will offer new ways of digital working through weekly artist-led workshops alongside monthly events and an online iteration of our annual Youth Collective Curates exhibition in the summer.

Our digital offer is currently only available to young artists who have joined up and engaged with our previous onsite sessions. Resources and parts of the online sessions will be available to non Youth Collective artists to access shortly. Please follow us on Instagram for updates and watch this space.

Artist-led Weekly Sessions, Saturdays 9 May – 4 July, 2.30-3.30pm:

This structured weekly series has been designed to offer creative activities and direction led by artists Fredde Lanka and Lateisha Davine Lovelace-Hanson. Much like the real life sessions there will be topics and themes given each week with ideas on how to be creative and continue an art practice during this time. This will include set weekly tasks to continue throughout the week Further details can be found here: Youth Collective – Weekly Sessions

Creative Crits, Saturday 16 May, 30 May, 13 June, 2.30-3.30pm:

We are offering four a series of creative crits for young artists to receive specific critical guidance on developing work and ideas from the weekly sessions. These will give further direction and support on approach and techniques, and are designed to provide further expertise and insight from Fredde Lanka and Lateisha Davine Lovelace-Hanson as professional artists. Guidance on booking will be sent to Youth Collective artists by email.

Sharing Space

An online community space provided for Youth Collective artists to share artwork and ideas outside of the Saturday sessions. This will be a space to continue discussions, enable peer-to-peer support and social interactions, and extend and share ideas and work as a collective. The link to the sharing space will be sent to Youth Collective artists following attendance of a weekly Saturday session.
