Book Launch and Talk: '1:1' by Nat Faulkner - Camden Art Centre

A discussion on the artist's practice, launching his new publication.

With Nat Faulkner, Gloria Hasnay, Michael Kurtz, and Sean Steadman.

This artist’s book, made to accompany the Camden Art Centre exhibition Strong water, presents a sequence of contact prints made from a single large-format image of a peppered moth; a species often referenced in studies of industrial melanism. Through repeated printing and the alternation of positive and negative images, the work moves from detailed representation towards abstraction. The publication also includes two essays; by Sean Steadman and Gloria Hasnay.

To mark the launch of this publication, Michael Kurtz will chair a discussion with Nat Faulkner, Gloria Hasnay, and Sean Steadman, focusing on the process, materials, and texts that informed the development of the book.

1:1 is now available through Camden Art Centre’s onsite and online shop.
