Radical Read-In with Eileen Myles and CAConrad

Poets Eileen Myles and CA Conrad invite you to bring reading materials and join them for all or a part of this collective silent reading experience. Lifting its concept from the feminist genderqueer artist collective LTTR, the read in proposes reading as an activist undertaking, bringing together a community of people through shared individual experience.

CAConrad is a 2019 Creative Capital Fellow, and the author of 9 books of poetry and essays.  While Standing in Line for Death (Wave Books), received the 2018 Lambda Award.  A recipient of a Pew Fellowship in the Arts, they also received The Believer Magazine Book Award and The Gil Ott Book Award. Their work has been translated into Spanish, Greek, Polish, Norwegian, Portuguese, Danish and German.  They teach regularly at Columbia University in NYC, and Sandberg Art Institute in Amsterdam and their poetry can be found online at http://bit.ly/88CAConrad

Eileen Myles is a poet, novelist, and art journalist. This winter Nov. 11-Jan 13 they are showing their photographs at Bridget Donahue Gallery, NYC. Their twenty-one books include evolution(poems), Afterglow (a dog memoir), I Must Be Living Twice/new and selected poems as well as re-issues of Chelsea Girls and Cool for You. They are a recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship, grants from the Foundation for Contemporary Art, Warhol/ Creative Capital and they received the Clark Prize for excellence in art writing. Eileen Myles is teaching at NYU this spring and at Naropa University next summer. They live in New York and Marfa, TX.
