Site artist at King’s Cross - Camden Art Centre

Ellie Reid was the ‘site artist’ for the largest development in Central London at King's Cross Central.

Reid trained at The Slade School of Fine Art just across the road from King’s Cross and specialises in fabricating works from materials sourced on site. At King’s Cross she creates pieces which respond to the dramatically changing area, taking materials left over from the work around the construction site and building her sculptures across the development.

Reid’s exhibition Shift was open from 06 – 22 February 2009 at the German Gymnasium, King’s Cross. Featuring sculptural works, drawings and film projections and incorporating materials such as plastic sheeting, debris netting, wood and rubble bags, the exhibition seeks to reflect the changing nature of the construction site.
