Youth Collective: Collective Lockdown - Camden Art Centre

Collective Lockdown presents a series of images, words and songs that reflect our Youth Collective artists’ experience of the pandemic.

Artists from the current cohort, along with those from the past five years of the project, were invited to submit content to create an online archive of this time. While the content represents individual experiences, together it captures a moment which feels familiar and shared among the Collective and beyond.

Artists: Alan, Amira, Amy, Asha, Charles, Erin, Kerrica, Majken, Nina, Siyang, Tascha, Toby, Trishita, Xanthe

About Youth Collective

Youth Collective is a space for people aged 15 – 25 to encounter the visual arts and learn new ways to consider, make, discuss and produce work as individuals and as a collective at Camden Art Centre.

In May 2020, in response to the nationwide lockdown as a result of COVID-19, Camden Art Centre launched Youth Collective Online as a digital iteration of our onsite Saturday programme. The temporary closure of Camden Art Centre resulted in the cancellation of our annual Youth Collective Curates exhibition. This online archive sits in place of the exhibition and marks the fifth year of our Youth Programme.
