Family visits - Camden Art Centre

Camden Art Centre welcomes visitors of all ages.

Please find information on this page that may be useful when planning your visit.

Our Exhibitions

Everyone is welcome to visit our free exhibitions.

If you are visiting with children, we ask that they are supervised at all times while in our galleries and onsite. The works that we show in our exhibitions are often unique and sometimes extremely fragile and so we ask that visitors work with us to avoid any damage to them.

Please find more information about our exhibitions here. There are no content warnings associated with the works in our current show.

Open Drawing Studio

When we can, we open our Drawing Studio as a free space for visitors explore their creativity.

The Drawing Studio provides various materials for you to experiment with.

While this area is primarily designed for families, we have found people of all ages have enjoyed using the space and are welcome to do so.

We ask that parents and guardians supervise their children at all times while using the Open Drawing Studio.

Opening times
Run with support from our volunteers, the Drawing Studio is open on occasional Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and most Saturdays 11am-2pm and Sundays.

Please call our Front Desk if you wish to check whether the Drawing Studio is open in advance of your visit.

Family Events

We regularly run our popular Family Takeover sessions in the Drawing Studio during school term times. To attend these sessions, you must book a free ticket. Please note that on these dates we do not run our Open Drawing Studio.

We also hold other one-off events and workshops for families. Please visit our What’s On pages to learn more and join our mailing list to stay up to date.

Garden

Our family visitors often enjoy using our Garden – a hidden gem on the busy Finchley Road. You are welcome to bring a rug and relax on the grass. Picnicking welcome.

Facilities

Our Café welcomes family visitors. Included in the menu is a children’s lunchbox. Highchairs are available on request.

If you wish to consume your own food and drink, we ask that you do this in the upper level of our Garden, where picnics are permitted.

Camden Art Centre has a level access entrance 10 metres up Arkwright Road on the left side.

All spaces are accessible for buggies except for the upper level of the Garden.

If you wish to park your buggy, please speak to our Front Desk, who can show you the space we have available. Buggies are left at your own risk.

There are toilet and baby changing facilities on the ground floor of our building opposite our Front Desk.

Our onsite Shop stocks a good selection of books, toys and other items for children and families.
