For our 60th anniversary, we are celebrating Camden Art Centre with a digital project exploring our rich history on Arkwright Road.
Over six weeks, we will take a look back at our activity from our early years in the 1960s to the present day, noting significant exhibitions, residencies, events and learning programmes.
On a trip down memory lane, artist Jeremy Deller shared some of his favourite exhibitions at Camden Art Centre in the 2000s, some of which were showing artists for the first time in the UK. Our galleries hosted artists such as Hilma af Klimt, Kerry James Marshall, Yinka Shonibare, Chantal Akerman, Christopher Wool and Bas Jan Ader.
Deller went on to curate ‘The Bruce Lacey Experience’, with art historian Professor David Alan Mellor, which was on display at Camden Art Centre in 2012.
